Trainee Doctors & Students

Avenham Surgery has a ‘5* Excellence in Teaching Award’ and is committed to supporting the ongoing learning and development of trainee doctors and medical students.

Foundation Year 2 Doctors:

We have Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2) who work at the practice for a period of time before moving onto another speciality area for further training. The FY2 doctors have their own clinics within the practice and are supervised by a Practice GP who is appointed as their trainer and has undergone the necessary training.

Medical Students:

The Surgery also supports both third year and fourth year medical students. Our medical students sit in the patient clinics with their supervising GP or nurse to observe.
