Vaccinations and Immunisation

Child Health and Immunisation

Please register the newborn babies as soon as possible. The Practice Baby Clinic is held on a Tuesday afternoon between 3pm and 5pm for 8 weeks checks and immunisations, please make an appointment. All childhood immunisations are given by the practice nurse by appointment.

Foreign Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to complete a Travel Vaccination form from reception. An appointment will then be made for you  to discuss these with the practice nurse who will advise on the recommended vaccinations for your destination. It is essential to give 2-6 weeks before departure. There may be a charge for some travel immunisations.

Influenza, Pneumococcal and Shingles Immunisation

Influenza immunisations are offered to at-risk patients annually (late autumn). Patients with asthma, diabetes, heart disease or any chronic chest disease should consider annual influenza vaccination. All patients aged 65 years and over, and pregnant women are also advised to have influenza immunization. Invitations are extended to all at-risk patients and patients who care for ‘at risk’ patients. The dates of our flu clinics are advertised in the surgery. Pneumococcal and Shingles vaccinations are offered in line with national guidance.
